Don't Wait For The Perfect Situation To Pay Down Your Debt
by erik kellum - Tuesday, 25 March 2008, 07:59 AM
Anyone in the world

By David Wilding The number one reason people dont get out of debt is they
dont try. This may apply to you. You want to, but never
seem to do it. You put it off for whatever reason. You want to wait for your life to be just right before you
make the attempt. You tell yourself, when I get the new
job, when I receive the next promotion, or when I get my
next raise, Ill go to work on my debt. Perhaps you are waiting for some artificially set date. You
tell yourself the first of the year will be a good time to start
or when you get back from vacation. Whenever it is, it is
always in the future. I call this perfect situation procrastinating.. This allows
you to put off any action, while you wait for your situation
to be perfect. It reminds me of a story I read the other day
about a mother registering her daughter for kindergarten. The mother, a school teacher, took her daughter to register
for kindergarten. They were greeted by the kindergarten
teacher near a table outside the room. On the table she had
some paper and crayons. The mother stood back while the
teacher did, what the mother recognized as, a simple
screening of her daughters abilities. The teacher asked the child to choose her favorite color
crayon and write her name on one of the pieces of paper.
The mother hovering in the background, knew her daughter
could not only spell her name, but the names of all her
family members. She was pleased her daughter would do so
well. However the child just stood and stared at the crayons. The
teacher again asked her to choose her favorite color and
write her name. The child remained still. Her mother knew
she could do this but stayed back to allow the teacher to
handle it. The teacher then put her arm around the girl and
told her it was all right, she would learn to write her name
during the school year. As the little girl and mother rode home the mother asked
her why she didnt write her name. Her daughter
responded, She asked me to write my name with my
favorite color and there was no pink crayon.
The little girl, very capable of doing what was asked of her,
didnt do it because the situation was not perfect. Many times we are the same way. As you get ready to tackle your debt, do that of which you are capable, not waiting for the perfect situation. While it is important to have a plan, it is more important to just begin. A plan may be adjusted as you go, but if you continually adjust your start date, you will never put your plan into action. So, start now, dont wait for your pink crayon. Keeping a Marriage With 5 Not So Easy Steps
by erik kellum - Sunday, 23 March 2008, 07:12 AM
Anyone in the world

By Rebecca Guevara When people learn Ive been married over thirty years they often pause and turn to look me up and down as though I am a chipped statue from the last century. They either congratulate me like Ive lived through a bout of bird flu or look at me with pity as though Ive been living in a bubble. Im accustomed to but dont like either response. Life has a relentless ability to twist, hammer, pound, pamper, surprise, teach, lecture all humans and I believe being married is a twist to the plot that adds certain story lines but doesnt coddle, protect, save or destroy any more or less than being single. Still, being married thirty years means Ive lived a while and at a certain point most people begin to do a little backward glancing to say, Wow, have I learned anything? To be bluntly truthful, when I first asked myself this question absolutely nothing rushed in for me to congratulate myself for accomplishing. It took a while before I willingly claimed the homely children who often are too blunt and cruel but I see their value and I no longer want to live without them. My five children are: 1. The person I married is not the one I got. He started changing the morning after the wedding. He kept changing through becoming a father, buying a house, his career and hes not stopping. Some things seemed to have stabilized from young man to real man, but life (and me) continues to pound and reshape him. 2. I carefully pick my fights. That comes from two angles. I no longer avoid an issue to keep the peace as my grandmother taught me and I no longer confront the jerk like so many others suggest. Instead I think, consider, weigh the importance and do a little training before getting in the ring or I dont get in the ring at all. 3. Kindness counts. It counts as courtesy to strangers as I drive and my physical safety is within their power and it counts with a man whose anger and hurt buttons I have down to an art as finely tuned and elegant as Russian egg painting. 4. Im a separate person. I had the little girl belief that the cleaving of marriage would tie us in mind, spirit, body and what we wanted to do next weekend. Not a one turned out true and in the end Im pleased its so. 5. Sometimes time heals wounds. Since Im a writer I feel capable of messing up anyones perfect writing with my opinions. Perhaps it is a continuing flaw of mine that can only reduce old wounds to still present scar tissue. It is slight, sometimes totally unnoticeable but it is also a gentle reminder of what I learned. Scar tissue is my respected teacher reminding me of strength, resolve, continuing forgiveness in small degrees and self-knowledge. I have a good marriage. It amply supplies me with love and happiness. He is a good and true man who has had the graciousness to stay with me. But a long lived marriage is not a monastery or moral virtue only because time has passed. It is simply a way of walking down the path of life. Sometimes holding hands and sometimes very alonejust like everyone else. Article Rebecca Guevara 2005. Reading Body Language in Depth
by erik kellum - Wednesday, 19 March 2008, 08:55 PM
Anyone in the world

By Robert Torrey Body Language can tell you a lot about what is happening in a relationship in so many ways. Is somebody feeling distant, having second thoughts, or are they going to go home rip off all your clothes and make wild, passionate love to you as soon as you close the front door. The clues are in the body language of your partner. Walking: Lets take just walking to a destination for an example. Things that say you are in sync are great. You are walking in about the same pace, side by side. Holding hands is another positive. If you go to look at your partner and admire them they should automatically return the admiration. There is a process known as mirroring in psychology and NLP which stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. NLP goes as far to say you should copy the persons mannerisms, body language to get more in rapport with a person. This shouldnt be necessary as if you are connecting well you and your partner should be in sync already. There have even been studies that say heart rates get similar. Warning signs for walking exists when couples arent in rapport. If somebody walks far ahead or behind they both have meanings. Far ahead would mean they just wish to lead, and get away from their partner. Somebody who walks far behind could be scared of their partner, and feel intimidated by them. If your partner crosses the street and gives absolutely no verbal or non verbal signals it is also a negative sign. Sitting: Now sitting is another example that can be used. Look at a pair of newlyweds. Youll see a lot of times they sit next to each other in booths at a restaurant not across from one another. They tend to remain close to each other no matter what. A family with a close mother and father do the same thing even when kids are involved. A partner Im dating might even sit sideways facing me in a car when they are really into me. Couples with good body language will take the time to connect all the time. The will face towards one another and when distractions stop will reengage each other in connecting. This can be done with kissing, holding hands, eye contact, or conversation. Their bodies should be angled towards each other and physical contact is done quite often. Another sign in a restaurant is both of the couples are eating in proportion to each other. Negative signs are when somebody doesnt connect during breaks. They instead read a menu again, look out the window, play with their purse or engage everybody but the person they are will. Their bodies are probably angled away from each other and physical contact in minimal. If somebody is eating a lot of their meal and the other is hardly touching their plate something is going on. The person hardly touching their plate is probably bothered by something. Making Love: When a couple is in sync they connect on a much deeper level they just physical. There should be a strong mental aspect. Eye contact is one of the biggest things both partners should be able to freely look into each others eyes during sex. Touching, holding, kissing is usually all a natural occurrence that happens during love making. A clasp of the hands with your partners, eye contact and others signal a much deeper connection. Partners should be willing to give pleasure as well as receive pleasure. Some warning signs could be closed eyes , in a stiffness in the shoulders and neck. These signal coldness, anxiety Be aware of the nonverbal communicate you have with your mate. There was a research study done by a psychologist known as Albert Mehrabian. His findings were its not what you say but how you say it that really matters. Verbal communication only accounts for 7% of the total communication we communicate. Top Ten American Idols Ever
by erik kellum - Sunday, 16 March 2008, 06:04 PM
Anyone in the world

By Groshan Fabiola American Idol has begun to carve out a nice little niche for itself. Perhaps this is an understatement, considering were talking about the most popular show in the country. But, Im talking about a legacy. The American Idols have become stars after appearing on the show, which is a rarity for reality TV. If you look at a show like Survivor, the victor of each season gains a little bit of momentary fame, but usually that fame fades after a few months. American Idol, to gain credibility, needs their winners to continue being famous even after the show ends. Now, watching American Idol, there are many cynical viewers who would argue that the fame is only momentary as well, and that none of the singers will ever be famous. Thankfully for American Idol, the singers who have won the crown have gone on to claim fame on their own accord. Just look at season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson. She is a Grammy nominee, she has had number one singles and she can be viewed outside of the realm of American Idol. Carrie Underwood is a huge name in country music these days. Maybe most impressively, Jennifer Hudson, who didnt even win American Idol, is now nominated for an Oscar. The point of this is that the Top Ten American Idols Ever, the article by BuddyTV, displays how much potential and star power the American Idol alumni actually have. The show will continue to be successful and one of the reasons is because that the alumni are becoming famous. Roses - 5 Tips to Give Your Roses a Springtime Boost
by erik kellum - Friday, 14 March 2008, 07:18 AM
Anyone in the world

By Hilary Basile A Recipe for Roses People begin to plant or replenish their rose gardens in the spring. For those bushes that are already established, spring is the time to see new buds and blooms trying to be born. Give your rose garden a springtime boost by trying this special tonic containing all of the nutrients your roses need in order for them to grow strong, healthy and produce a lot of buds. 1. Apply the tonic in the early spring, after you have removed any of the necessary winter protection that you put up. Here is a list of the ingredients that you will need to make this mixture. You should mix them in a 5 gallon tub or bucket: 2 cups of alfalfa meal
2 cups of Epsom salt
2 cups of fish meal
2 cups of gypsum
2 cups of greensand
1 cup of bone meal 2. Pull back the mulch that has been placed around your rose bush. 3. Work one cup of this tonic into the top inch of soil if you have a smaller rose bush. 4. Use a trowel or a hand cultivator for larger rose bushes (this is best for rose bushes that are 6 feet or taller). Larger rose bushes will require three or four cups of tonic. 5. Replace the mulch and water your roses well. Tips:
Do this again in the middle of June to keep your roses blooming. Scratch 2 cups of the mixture into the soil.
Wear a dust mask while you are mixing your ingredients for the tonic. Enjoy your rose garden! Hilary Basile is a writer for MyGuidesUSA.com. When Gardening, What are the Right Tools that Anybody Will Need
by erik kellum - Wednesday, 12 March 2008, 06:17 PM
Anyone in the world

By Allison Thompson For different kinds of gardens you will need different kinds of tools. Most hardware and DIY stores now have a wide range of tools available in stock, but if you want there are shops that specialize in the more expensive ranges that shout quality to you. But wherever you decide to purchase your tools from here a few points to help you make an informed decision. Firstly you need to look at the size of your garden, is it small or is it large? A small garden does not require the same large equipment that would be used in a bigger one. Why bother purchasing a ride-on lawn mower if you only have a small lawn. Also you need to look at who in your household does most of the gardening. If you say it is your wife that spends a vast amount of time gardening then you need to look for tools that will suit her, there are some out there that are too heavy for women to use. You are looking to purchase a pair of secateurs and you should always ensure that the blade is kept sharp to avoid causing undue damage to your plants. If you can look for a pair where the blades can either be sharpened or they can be replaced, as well as a pair that have a tension control system and a pair that best fits your hand size. Normally a good quality pair of secateurs can cost from around $50 to 130. If you have a hedge or considering growing one (to provide that all important privacy that you crave) then you need to look at purchasing a good quality hedge trimmer or a good quality pair of shears. You may find that some hedge trimmers have a curved blade which stops branches from sliding out when cut, and as with secateurs the shears you decide to purchase need to be suitable for the blades to be sharpened or replaced. Essential items you should have in your gardening tool kit are a fork, shovel, rake, chipping hoe and a pruning saw (not essential unless you have trees or large shrubs in your garden). When selecting a fork remember that it has to be strong enough to carry out the work required of it such as turning and aerating compost as well as breaking up lumps in the soil. So rather than opted for the cheaper versions which you will find are not strong enough to work in heavy soil, you should look at one that is sturdy. The average cost of a fork starts at about $30 and goes up to about $100. When looking to purchase a shovel it should have a scoop blade and is mainly used for moving dirt and garden soil around. However, a flat bladed spade is ideal for cutting edges, digging and dividing plants. All edges of spades should be kept sharpened for clean and efficient cutting as this will cause little or no damage to your plants. A fork is really a gardening necessity and can cost from say $30 up to as much as $50. Another tool that is part of the essential ones to have when gardening is a rake. There are two types of rakes that are available, the strong flat head rake that has sharp metal prongs is ideal for smooth out a garden bed and removing any bumps and weeds that still remain, whilst the plastic version is specifically designed for gathering and clearing leaves and grass clippings. The chipping hoe is a handy tool to have as it helps get rid of all those small weeds that are dotted around the garden. However if you want to avoid causing undue damage to your neck and shoulders whilst gardening with a hoe it might be well worth considering purchasing either a Dutch or push-hoe instead. Now we come to the pruning saw which as I said previously is only really necessary if you have either trees or large shrubs in your garden. This should be used in place of secateurs as they are only really designed for dealing with delicate plants such as rose bushes etc. A good quality pruning saw will have a narrow curved blade that can easily fit between the stems and branches of the tree or shrub and cuts them as you pull the saw back towards you. You will usually find that a good quality pruning saw costs from as little as $27 and can cost as much as $55. Although gardening tools do not have to be expensive you may find that you can pick up good quality tools at either flea markets or garage sales at a bargain price. Are Herbal Diet Pills the Solution for Safe, Effective Weight Loss?
by erik kellum - Tuesday, 11 March 2008, 11:21 AM
Anyone in the world

By Scott LeRoy With the alarming increase in obesity, more and more people are turning to herbal diet pills as a safer alternative to controversial prescription medications. There is an increasing demand for supplements that utilize the natural ingredients that the manmade substances are trying to mimic. This is where Mother Nature steps in. Unlike their artificial counterparts, herbal diet aides are meant to help boost your metabolism naturally. Like the simulated ingredients in many weight loss drugs, prescription or otherwise, herbal diet pills stimulate your metabolic system but do so by providing your body with what it needs to do so naturally, not by introducing harmful chemicals. Any number of herbs can be found in weight loss supplements. Some contain just one extract, others contain multiple herbal extracts along with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that can not only help stimulate weight loss but also promote general health and wellbeing. The more comprehensive formulas are perhaps more effective, because the ingredients they contain can work together to speed up metabolism, increase thermogenesis, curb appetite, boost energy, improve mood, among other benefits. Herbal diet aids, when used in conjunction with a good nutrition and exercise plan, can greatly improve your chances of healthy weight loss. Instead of offering a false promise of overnight fitness, they give you the chance to incorporate another natural change to your lifestyle so you can keep the weight off. Some of the herbal extracts showing much promise are hoodia gordonii, bitter orange and green tea, among others. One of the most effective natural weight loss pills, ephedra, was banned a few years ago due to the health complications it caused. Unlike prescription medication, herbal diet pills can be bought over the counter and are found in many general health shops, as well as online. It's important to note, however, that they are not regulated like pharmaceuticals, so make sure you research the ingredients, the facts behind why they work and even consumer testimonials and reviews. Learn about the different herbal diet aids that are available, before deciding which one is right for you. Having weight issues is not just about appearance. Along with the increase of fat in our bodies, there is also an increase in the risk of certain ailments such as heart conditions or diabetes. Being heavy also adds stress to ligaments and joints and being out of shape reduces healthy muscle mass, in turn causing soreness and fatigue. If you do it for nothing else but just the chance of being able to feel better, it is worth investing a little time in order to check into the herbal diet aides that are available. You do not have to starve yourself and work out constantly to have a new and better you. If you take this route, the minute you start eating balanced meals again or become a little less active, the weight will pile back on. Herbal diet aids are like the old proverb of "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Herbal diet pills are not the complete answer to all of your fitness or weight loss goals, but they can be a very important first step in your voyage to look good and feel good, both inside and out. Financial Freedom for Doctors
by erik kellum - Sunday, 9 March 2008, 10:54 PM
Anyone in the world

By Stefanus Wahyudi The term financial freedom should not be reserved for those who own their own businesses. Even if you work for someone else, financial freedom is a worthy goal, and one you should work toward every day. Of course, the phrase financial freedom may mean different things to different people. For some, financial freedom may mean the freedom to spend a month backpacking through Tibet, exploring the sights and sounds of a forgotten world. For others, financial freedom may mean traveling first class through Europe, enjoying the best hotels and restaurants from Paris to Milan. Whatever your goals, there are several ways to achieve the holy grail of financial freedom. The traditional way, especially if you work for someone else, is to save as much as you can and accumulate wealth over time. The other time tested road to financial freedom is owning your own business. Of course, a doctor in private practice is for all intents and purposes a business owner. Running a medical practice is certainly as difficult and time consuming as running any other type of business, and doctors are probably more familiar than they want to be with such non-medical subjects as billing and insurance. It can be difficult to see the goal of financial freedom, especially when you are struggling to get your new practice off the ground. However, it is important to not lose sight of the ultimate goal. Financial freedom can be achieved through the judicious use of investments and even real estate. Such investments are excellent sources of passive income. Passive income simply means the income is generated with little or no effort on your part. This is extremely important, because no doubt you already have plenty to do. Stefanus Wahyudi has started his financial freedom journey since his college years. Now, he is encouraging many to do the same: start early! Basic Information For Bass Fishing
by erik kellum - Sunday, 9 March 2008, 03:24 AM
Anyone in the world

By Alison Symons Since three-forth of the world is composed of bodies of water, its natural that a great number of people rely on fishing for their livelyhood or just for their recreation needs. There are numerous of fish species swimming under the lakes, seas, ponds, and rivers. Most anglers consider fishing as the delight in their purpose-driven life, a sport, as they say. Bass fishing, at present, is considered as Americas number one freshwater sport, its industry is in fact seventy percent higher in growth compared to other types of fishing activities. Bass is a fish that belongs to the Serranidae family or sea basses and the Centrarchidae or the black basses. This family of perchlike fishes are large and oblong with compressed bodies that dwell in warm and temperate seas throughout the world. Along the Atlantic coast, black or common sea basses a sluggish bottom fish are found. Its size averages 6 pounds or 2.7 kilograms in weight and 18 inches or 45 centimetres in length. The Pacific Sea basses, on the other hand, are giant fishes with bulky characteristics that reach a weight of 600 pounds or 270 kilograms and a length of 7 feet or 2.1 metres. There are two things that should be considered in bass fishing, which are, the bass location on the lake or river and bass catching using different techniques, presentations and baits. In locating bass dwellings, there are lots of different factors that have to be determined like map-reading, how to locate active bass just after cold fronts and during early spring and late fall periods, understanding water depth, water clarity, temperatures, seasonal patterns, locating structure areas and finding their vegetation areas. In map reading, there are two general types of lake maps that most anglers use. These are the Hot Spot maps that show more fishing spots and the Topographical map which shows more details. Experiment first by taking it on shore and looking for areas where fish are most likely be. The next step would be familiarization. In locating bass one element that should be considered is the vegetation or the area where they eat, breath and cover themselves. In other words, it is where they could be found to congregate. If there is no vegetation, other elements like irregular contours, shallow water close to deep-water areas, points and point drops and other types of structure can require alternative techniques. The rest of the necessities are the selection of a few crankbaits. One needs a shallow diver and a deep diver but two colors of each are fine. A natural looking crankbait, one that resembles baitfish and a shocker bright one should be selected. These represent the two extremes, nonetheless are very effective. The most successful method of catching bass is the crankbait. The throwing and retrieving method can be done with varying speed and its depth can be determined by the speed of the reeling and by the pole. Bass love colorful lures and they seem to hit them more often. When fishing with these lures, one should always try to make them look good in the water and make the bass come after them. This can be done by making them swim as realistically as possible. Bumping these lures against objects in the water attracts fish, but the chance of getting the lure stuck might be a risk you don't want to take. A worm, on the other hand, is a good lure and represents the most edible and tasty meal. Even plastic worms will do. Before competitions became a part of it, bass fishing was reserved for seasoned anglers and did get much media coverage. It was a recreation mostly practiced in the springtime and mostly early in the mornings and late in the afternoons all over the globe. Now, it has grown tremendously in every way, from the effort to gain knowledge to the technology to the equipment used to get the best results.
